U2 has released its new single, "Street of Dreams," giving fans the first preview of the band's upcoming studio album.
The band also debuted an accompanying music video that was filmed in May near Plaza Santo Domingo in Mexico City.
During the video shoot, bad weather interrupted production as thunder and rain caused the generator to fail. U2 took shelter in a nearby apartment, where the resident allowed the band to continue filming from a balcony while fans gathered below to watch.
The upcoming release will be U2's first full-length studio album in nine years. The band's previous album, Songs of Experience, was released in December 2017.
Earlier this year, U2 also released the EPs Days of Ash and Easter Lily in February and April.
The new music arrives as the band approaches a major milestone. In September, U2 will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its formation after Larry Mullen Jr. placed an advertisement seeking musicians on the noticeboard at Dublin's Mount Temple Comprehensive.
