A special tribute concert celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Ramones' 1976 self-titled debut album will take place Aug. 30 at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.

The event will feature the first performance by the Cretin Family, a supergroup consisting of Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, former Ramones bassist CJ Ramone, and Rancid frontman Tim Armstrong.

In a statement, Barker called the Ramones "the blueprint," adding that punk rock would not be what it is today without the band's influence.

The evening will be hosted by actor John Travolta and will also include screenings of the 1976 horror film Carrie and Travolta's directorial debut, Propeller One-Way Night Coach. Artist Shepard Fairey is also scheduled to perform a DJ set.

Tickets for the event are on sale now.

Originally released on April 23, 1976, the Ramones' debut album introduced the classic punk anthem "Blitzkrieg Bop." A 50th anniversary picture disc vinyl edition of the album is scheduled for release on July 17.
