Metallica's Ride the Lightning Featured in Gears of War: E-Day

Metallica's 1984 album Ride the Lightning is being featured in the upcoming video game Gears of War: E-Day.

The game will include a weapon skin inspired by Ride the Lightning. In addition, Metallica's song "For Whom the Bell Tolls" soundtracks a new Gears of War: E-Day trailer that previews the game's multiplayer modes.

Gears of War: E-Day is scheduled for release on Oct. 6 for Xbox Series X/S and Windows. Players can preorder the game to receive early access to its open beta beginning Aug. 6.

Metallica is also preparing for its residency at the Las Vegas Sphere, which begins in October.
