Jimmy Eat World frontman Jim Adkins has shared an update on the band's progress toward new music, saying the group is continuing to work on new material.

Speaking with ABC Audio, Adkins said the band is "always working on something," but noted that a new album is not yet ready.

"I can't really say that there's an album ready or not, but there's definitely beginnings," Adkins said. "There's definitely material, but I don't think we're ready to do an album, like, release anything."

Jimmy Eat World's most recent studio album, Surviving, was released in 2019. Since then, the band has released several standalone singles, including 2022's "Something Loud."

While fans wait for new music, Jimmy Eat World is continuing its 25th anniversary Bleed American tour. The U.S. leg resumes July 17 in Bend, Oregon.
