Former President Barack Obama has shared the 2026 edition of his annual summer playlist, highlighting a mix of rock, alternative, and contemporary artists.

Among this year's selections are The Strokes' "Going Shopping," Noah Kahan's "Doors," Coldplay's "Charlie Brown," Mumford & Sons and Hozier's collaboration "Rubber Band Man," and Temper City's "Self Aware," which is currently the No. 1 song on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart.

Obama opened the playlist with "Song of Good Hope" by Glen Hansard, who died Wednesday at the age of 56.

In a social media post, Obama explained the significance of the opening track.

"Here are some of the songs I've been listening to this summer," Obama wrote. "It starts with a song Michelle and I love by Glen Hansard, a great musician who passed tragically this week. Our hearts go out to his family."
