The Vinyl Cafe is a radio show hosted by award-winning Canadian writer and broadcaster, the late Stuart McLean. The Vinyl Cafe aired for 22 seasons and attracted a weekly audience of over 2 million people on CBC Radio, podcast, Sirius Satellite Radio and on a number of Public Radio stations in the United States and won the Most Licensed Group and Most Licensed Series on PRX (Public Radio Exchange) three times. The Unreleased Stories is a special, all new collection of 13 stories by the beloved -- and greatly missed -- Stuart McLean. “The Christmas Card” and “Dave and the Vacuum” have never been heard on radio, only heard by live audiences on Stuart’s last tour. They were recorded at Stuart's final show and never intended for air. As a result, the recordings have a bit of a bootlegged feeling with some entertaining ad lib references, and off the cuff remarks by Stuart. It is our hope that listening to this collection – especially those two stories, never heard outside of the live audience – will feel like attending a live Vinyl Cafe performance. Laugh along with audiences from across the country as they enjoy stories about Canada’s favourite fictional family: Dave, Morley and the kids. Four and a half hours of fun in a beautiful 4-disc package -- featuring artwork by long-time friend of the show and regular Vinyl Cafe guest, musician Reid Jamieson -- The Unreleased Stories will be a gift to treasure for Stuart McLean fans old and new. You’d think that having someone in your life who offers to do the chores would be a good thing. Turns out that all depends on whom that someone might be. Take Dave, for example. When Dave offers to do the vacuuming, or get those last-minute dinner party items, or even the simplest thing like picking up stamps for the Christmas cards, his idea of helping isn’t always helpful. Just ask Morley! It may not be helpful, but it is always entertaining. Smuggling, vacuuming and stamp collecting; waitressing, songwriting and snake delivering – you name it, you’ll hear about it – and some rare recordings too, on The Unreleased Stories.

Return Policy

Returns are accepted within 7 days of product delivery.  

New vinyl must be unopened and unplayed, unless there is concealed damage.  

Used vinyl is graded for vinyl and jacket condition.  Please contact us directly if there is a problem. 

Signed vinyl records cannot be returned unless they are damaged or defective.

Sleeves and LP Mailers can be returned within 7 days.
