Best known as the lead singer of Ollie and The Nightingale, Ollie Nightingale’s solo debut, Sweet Surrender (1973) is absolutely filled to the brim with down-home soul. With production duties handled by the legendary Gene “Bowlegs” Miller (whose work with Otis Redding and Etta James made him one of soul’s most in-demand producers), and additional string arrangements by Willie Mitchell’s younger brother, saxophonist James Mitchell, there’s no doubt that this album will sound familiar to any fans of southern soul! Comparisons to O.V. Wright are frequent, but Ollie’s unique, high-pitched voice pulls at the heart strings, and any of his fantastic ballads are sure to bring a tear to your eye. From textbook soul ballads such as “I’m In Love” to bluesy gospel numbers such as “Standing On A Promise”, there’s sure to be something for everyone on Sweet Surrender! Return Policy

Returns are accepted within 7 days of product delivery.  

New vinyl must be unopened and unplayed, unless there is concealed damage.  

Used vinyl is graded for vinyl and jacket condition.  Please contact us directly if there is a problem. 

Signed vinyl records cannot be returned unless they are damaged or defective.

Sleeves and LP Mailers can be returned within 7 days.
