Weezer Premieres New Song "C.E.O." Ahead of The Gold Album

Weezer has released a new song, "C.E.O.," from the band's upcoming color-themed self-titled record, The Gold Album.

The track opens with frontman Rivers Cuomo singing, "Cranking out another '90s jam/ Wish I could do something new/ But nobody wants to hear that/ They just want the classics." Later in the song, Cuomo adds, "You can't blame 'em really/ There's something special about your early s***."

The music video for "C.E.O." follows Weezer as they attempt to recreate the band's iconic "Undone – The Sweater Song" video after being instructed by executives portrayed by Rob Riggle and Rob Huebel. When the band walks away from the production, the executives and director Curry Barker recruit actors Michael Peña, Giovanni Ribisi and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, along with skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, to take their place.

The Gold Album, Weezer's first full-length album in five years, is scheduled for release on Aug. 21. The album also features the previously released tracks "Shine Again" and "We Might as Well Be Strangers."

Weezer will begin their U.S. Gathering tour in September with support from The Shins and Silversun Pickups. A newly announced international leg starts in Japan in February 2027 before continuing through the U.K. and Europe in May, with Taking Back Sunday joining the lineup.
