Tony Iommi Teases New Solo Project Announcement

Tony Iommi has hinted that new music news is on the way.

The Black Sabbath guitarist shared a video on Facebook featuring a close-up of himself playing a guitar riff. The clip ends with the date Wednesday, July 29, suggesting an announcement is planned.

The teaser appears to point toward Iommi's long-awaited solo project. In a message posted on New Year's Eve 2025, he revealed that a new solo album would be released in 2026.

Fans won't have to wait long to learn more, with the announcement expected on Wednesday.

Earlier this year, Iommi reunited with original Black Sabbath bandmates Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward for the band's final performance at the Back to the Beginning concert in July 2025. Ozzy Osbourne died just over two weeks after the historic reunion.
