Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has announced a new solo album, From the Dark, marking his first solo release in more than two decades.

The album is scheduled for release on Oct. 23 and features vocalist Jorn Lande, bassist Becky Baldwin, and drummer Karl Brazil.

"It's an album we've really enjoyed making," Iommi said in a statement. "We're not trying to prove anything – it's a great album, it rocks!"

Along with the announcement, Iommi released the album's lead single, "World Alone," accompanied by an official music video now available on YouTube.

From the Dark follows Iommi's last solo album, released in 2005. Since then, he reunited with Black Sabbath to record the band's final studio album, 13, in 2013 before completing a farewell tour in 2017.

In 2025, the original Black Sabbath lineup—Tony Iommi, Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward—reunited one final time for the Back to the Beginning concert. Ozzy Osbourne passed away just over two weeks after the historic performance.
