Shinedown bassist Eric Bass has announced that he will not be joining the band's upcoming tour as he focuses on his mental health.

In a video shared on Facebook, Bass said he experienced a serious mental health crisis a few weeks ago and decided it would not be the right time for him to return to touring.

Bass explained that he considered remaining silent about his absence but ultimately chose to speak publicly because both he and Shinedown have long supported conversations surrounding mental health.

He also shared that he is currently receiving treatment and is already feeling better, though he does not have a timeline for his return. Bass said he wants to make sure he is healthy before rejoining the band.

During his absence, Josh Sturm and Zack Mack will fill in on bass.

Shinedown's tour begins Saturday in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, in support of the band's new album, EI8HT.
