New Order has announced that original members Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert will be stepping away from touring for the foreseeable future.
The band confirmed the news while announcing a November performance in Chile, noting that Morris and Gilbert will not be joining the show.
In a statement shared on Instagram, New Order said, "Due to personal health reasons, Stephen and Gillian won’t be touring for the foreseeable future and will not be joining for this show."
The band added that frontman Bernard Sumner, guitarist Phil Cunningham, and bassist Tom Chapman are sorry the pair cannot take part but that the circumstances make it impossible.
Also in November, New Order and its predecessor, Joy Division, will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
The band has not announced whether it will attend or participate in the induction ceremony. Former bassist Peter Hook has confirmed that he will be attending.
