Foo Fighters paid tribute to Liverpool's most famous band during the second of two performances in the city on Saturday.

The band debuted its live cover of The Beatles' Abbey Road track "I Want You (She's So Heavy)," marking the first time Dave Grohl and company have performed the song in concert.

The Beatles famously formed in Liverpool, making the performance a fitting tribute.

During the first Liverpool show, Grohl invited a fan named Max onstage after he completed a Rubik's Cube challenge. Holding a sign asking to play a song if he solved the puzzle, Max completed the challenge and then performed drums on the Foo Fighters song "Rope."

It was later revealed that Max was not a random fan but the boyfriend of Grohl's daughter, Harper Grohl. The surprise appearance was arranged to celebrate Max's 18th birthday.

Before the Liverpool concerts, students from Liverpool's Anfield Road Primary School performed the Foo Fighters song "Times Like These." A video of the performance is available to watch on YouTube.

Foo Fighters are currently touring Europe in support of their album Your Favorite Toy, released in April. The tour heads to North America beginning in August.
