Kathleen Hanna and Ad-Rock Cover “Let Me Love You” for Benefit Compilation

Kathleen Hanna and Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz have teamed up in the studio for a new recording.

The Bikini Kill vocalist and Beastie Boys member, who wed in 2006, have released a cover of “Let Me Love You,” the 2016 single by DJ Snake and Justin Bieber.

The recording also features former Beastie Boys touring members Money Mark and Fredo Ortiz, as well as Frank Figueroa.

The cover will appear on the upcoming benefit compilation Contra-ICE Vol. 1: ICE OUT, put together by the organization Build Art Make Change.

Build Art Make Change founder Dali Colorado describes Contra-ICE as more than an album or collective, calling it a cultural infrastructure designed to support frontline organizations, amplify immigrant voices, and mobilize creatives.

Hanna says the project allowed her to make music with some of her favorite people while working alongside a grassroots organization.

Contra-ICE Vol. 1: ICE OUT is set for release on Oct. 2, with proceeds benefiting the National Day Laborer Organizing Network and Unión del Barrio.

The album also features contributions from Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, former Dead Kennedys vocalist Jello Biafra and Fishbone.

Two album release shows are scheduled for Oct. 2 and Oct. 3 in Los Angeles.
