Former Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg has released a new solo single titled "Drown Fountain."

The song features Softcult and also marks Weinberg's official vocal debut.

Weinberg shared that he first began writing "Drown Fountain" in 2013 and revisited it over the years before the collaboration with Softcult helped complete the track.

"'Drown Fountain' is this weird song I started writing back in 2013 that I'd keep revisiting over the years, but I could never figure out how to get it across the finish line," Weinberg said. "It took my introduction to Softcult's music and reaching out to see if they'd be interested in collaborating for the song to finally become what it was meant to be."

He added that working with Softcult was an honor and described the song as feeling more vulnerable than anything he has previously created.

"Drown Fountain" is Weinberg's third solo release, following "Sandstone," featuring George Clarke of Deafheaven, and "Drone Operator," featuring NOWHERE2RUN.

Fans can also hear Weinberg on drums on Fuming Mouth's upcoming album, The Ringing Bell, which is scheduled for release on July 17.
