Jared Leto Denies Sexual Misconduct Allegations Detailed in BBC Report

Actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto has denied allegations of sexual misconduct detailed in a new BBC report and documentary.

The BBC reported that it spoke with 10 women for its documentary, Jared Leto: Hollywood's Dark Secret, with nine of the women speaking publicly for the first time, according to a companion report published Wednesday.

The report includes allegations from multiple women involving alleged incidents that took place between 2002 and 2016. Among the allegations are claims of sexually explicit phone calls, sexual assault, threats of sexual assault, grooming, and statutory rape. According to the BBC, several women said they were teenagers at the time of their alleged encounters with Leto.

ABC News reported that it has not independently verified the allegations contained in the BBC report.

In a statement provided to ABC News, Leto denied the allegations.

"I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life," Leto said. "These claims are absolutely and categorically false."

The BBC report also references previous allegations published by Air Mail in 2025, in which nine women accused Leto of sexually inappropriate behavior or making sexually explicit remarks that made them feel uncomfortable. Through his representative, Leto denied those allegations as well.

Jared Leto has appeared in films since the early 1990s and won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2014 for his performance in Dallas Buyers Club. In addition to his acting career, he co-founded the rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars with his brother, Shannon Leto, in 1998.
