Greta Van Fleet has announced the release of a new single titled “Play Your Games,” marking the band’s first new music since their 2023 album, Starcatcher.

The new track is scheduled to premiere on May 29 and is currently available for presave. Fans can also preview a minute-long teaser of “Play Your Games” through the band’s official Facebook page.

The upcoming single arrives after months of speculation surrounding the future of the band. Earlier this year, Greta Van Fleet sparked concern among fans after posting a video titled “Thanks for the Wild Ride,” leading many to wonder if the group was breaking up. The band later clarified the situation by revealing they had returned to the studio and were actively working on new music.

In addition to the single announcement, Greta Van Fleet is preparing for a special intimate performance at Bowery Ballroom on May 27. Tickets for the underplay concert will be available exclusively through the venue’s box office beginning May 26 at 9 a.m. ET.

In more somber news connected to the band, Gretna Van Fleet — the Frankenmuth, Michigan woman whose name inspired the band’s moniker — has passed away at the age of 95.
