Faith No More may be hinting at a long-awaited return.

The band, which has not performed live since 2016, has fans speculating about a possible reunion after posting an image on Instagram featuring the year 2027 alongside the FNM logo superimposed over a crowd photo.

Faith No More had planned to return to the stage in 2021 for a series of live dates, but those shows were canceled as frontman Mike Patton dealt with mental health challenges. In a 2022 interview with Rolling Stone, Patton revealed he had been diagnosed with the anxiety disorder agoraphobia.

While Patton eventually returned to performing with Mr. Bungle, Faith No More remained inactive. In the same Rolling Stone interview, Patton said the canceled tour created “broken feelings on both sides.”

Keyboardist Roddy Bottum later described the band as being on a “semi-permanent hiatus” in 2024.

In separate interviews during 2025, drummer Mike Bordin said he felt Patton had shown he was “unwilling to do shows with us,” while Bottum indicated he did not believe anyone was interested in a reunion at that time.

Whether the new teaser signals a genuine reunion remains to be seen. For now, Patton has been performing select Faith No More songs live with AVTT/PTTN, his collaboration with The Avett Brothers.
