The Pretty Reckless Releases New Album Dear God

The Pretty Reckless has released its fifth studio album, Dear God.
Frontwoman Taylor Momsen said the new record is one the band feels especially proud of.
"Dear God just kind of does all the things I want it to do," Momsen told ABC Audio. "It's brutally honest, it's vulnerable, it's emotional, but it's aggressive and intense, and it kind of covers the whole spectrum of human emotion."
The album frequently references religious imagery throughout its lyrics. Momsen said she does not consider herself particularly religious and described the idea of God on the album as representing something greater than religion.
She also called the album "a collection of confessions" from her own life.
Songs on the album revisit different experiences and emotions. "When I Wake Up" reflects on her hard-partying years, while "Love Me" asks, "Why doesn't anyone love me?" The track "Eye of the Storm" explores personal struggles that Momsen says are difficult to share, even with those closest to her.
The Pretty Reckless will launch a U.S. headlining tour in support of Dear God on July 10 in Raleigh, North Carolina. The tour will also include dates for AC/DC's opening act.
