System of a Down’s ‘Aerials’ Passes 1 Billion Spotify Streams

System of a Down’s “Aerials” has officially passed 1 billion streams on Spotify, becoming the fourth song from the band to reach the streaming milestone.

“Aerials” joins “Toxicity,” “Chop Suey!” and “Lonely Day” in Spotify’s Billions Club, giving System of a Down four songs with more than 1 billion streams each.

Three of those songs come from the same album. “Aerials,” “Chop Suey!” and “Toxicity” all appear on System of a Down’s 2001 album, Toxicity.

The album will celebrate its 25th anniversary in September.

“Lonely Day,” the other System of a Down song to surpass 1 billion Spotify streams, appears on the band’s 2005 album Hypnotize.

Hypnotize remains System of a Down’s most recent album, although the band released two new songs in 2020.

With “Aerials” reaching 1 billion Spotify streams, System of a Down now has four tracks represented in Spotify’s Billions Club.
