PJ Harvey Releases New Song “Voyager”

PJ Harvey has premiered a new song titled “Voyager.”

The track was inspired by NASA’s Voyager space probes, which were launched in 1977, and the Voyager Golden Record was carried aboard both spacecraft. The record was designed to introduce the people of Earth to any extraterrestrial life that might discover it.

“I was excited for the challenge to compose a song in the ‘voice’ of Voyager 2,” Harvey said in a statement. “I have long been fascinated by the spacecraft and its journey, and asked myself what it might say to us if it could? This was an inspiring route to take to develop the song.”

A music video for “Voyager” is available to stream now on YouTube.

The song follows Harvey’s 2023 album, I Inside the Old Year Dying, and offers what a press release describes as a “glimpse into her next artistic chapter.”
