Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett is taking a recent onstage fall in stride after a Taylor Swift-themed T-shirt sparked discussion online.

During a recent Metallica performance in Dublin, Hammett briefly lost his balance while walking along the front of the stage during the opening riff of “Seek and Destroy.” He fell toward the crowd but appeared unharmed and quickly returned to his feet before continuing the song.

The incident came days after Hammett wore a novelty T-shirt during a Metallica show in Budapest featuring a drawing of Taylor Swift alongside the phrase “Taylor Swift is a CIA psyop.”

The shirt caught the attention of some members of Swift’s fanbase online. One fan account shared a photo of the shirt and commented on social media about Hammett and Metallica.

Following the fall, Hammett appeared to take the situation lightly. He posted a video of the moment on Instagram and captioned it, “Yep ….. 💩 happens!”

Metallica returned to Dublin for another performance on Sunday without any issues.

The band will continue its European tour through early July before launching its sold-out residency at the Las Vegas Sphere in October.
