Iron Maiden’s concert in Paris was interrupted on Monday when a power outage caused the Paris La Défense Arena to go dark during the band’s performance of “2 Minutes to Midnight.”
According to fan reports and a recap from SortiraParis.com, the outage occurred in the middle of the song as France continues to experience an extreme heat wave.
Fans waited approximately an hour before the band returned to the stage and resumed the show. However, because of the delay and the venue’s curfew, Iron Maiden was unable to perform its planned encore.
Ahead of the concert, the band announced that the Paris show was being filmed as part of a project documenting the Run for Your Lives tour. Fans in the floor section were also required to place their phones in Yondr pouches during the performance.
It is currently unknown whether the power outage will affect the planned tour film.
The Run for Your Lives tour celebrates Iron Maiden’s 50th anniversary and continues across Europe through mid-July before heading to North America in late August.
