Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea is the featured artist in the newest episode of NPR’s Tiny Desk performance series.
During the set, Flea moved between his signature bass, trumpet and vocals while performing three songs from his debut solo album, Honora: “Traffic Lights,” “Morning Cry” and “A Plea.”
Flea was joined by a four-piece band made up of guitarist Jeff Parker, saxophonist and keyboardist Josh Johnson, bassist Anna Butterss and drummer Deantoni Parks.
“I’m just one part of this ensemble,” Flea says of the collective.

Honora was released in March and includes a guest appearance from Radiohead frontman and Flea’s Atoms for Peace bandmate Thom Yorke. The album also features an instrumental cover of Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin Bout You.”
