Radiohead guitarist Ed O'Brien has shared more insight into the band's future touring plans following their return to the live stage in 2025.
Radiohead performed a 20-show European run at the end of 2025, marking the band's first live performances in seven years. In a March interview with Rolling Stone, O'Brien said the band planned to continue performing around 20 shows on a different continent each year beginning in 2027.
In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, O'Brien clarified that plan, saying:
"Take that with a pinch of salt. I don't think we'll do any more than 20 shows."
Explaining why the limited schedule works for the band, O'Brien added:
"Because you can't do any more — these songs, they're too powerful."
Reflecting on the band's recent performances, he said:
"The shows last year were really emotional. By the end of it, you were drained."
O'Brien also noted the band's younger audience:
"The audience has gotten very young — our biggest demographic, which you can see from streaming, is 16 to 24."
He continued:
"There's an outpouring of emotion from them and from us, so in order to do more shows, you'd have to somehow limit the amount you gave to each performance. And I think we're unwilling to do that."
Outside of Radiohead, O'Brien has released a new solo song titled "Abbeycwmhir." The track follows his solo album Blue Morpho, which was released in May.
